Competition Terms and Conditions

ECB BOUNDARY BASH PRIZE DRAW 2025 (THE “COMPETITION”)

Competition Overview

  1. England and Wales Cricket Board Limited (company number 03251364), whose registered office is at Lords Cricket Ground, St Johns Wood, London, NW8 8QZ (“ECB”) is operating a prize draw for participants who are successful in the Competition (as defined below) for the chance to win signed cricket merchandise or a post-match presentation opportunity.
  2. The Competition means the competition run by the ECB in which members of the public who are present at relevant ECB organised matches can sign up online to try to ‘hit a six’ against a professional cricket player using their/ their parent’s (as applicable) mobile device as a virtual bat (the “Entrants”). If an Entrant is successful in ‘hitting a six’ they will be automatically entered into a prize draw (the “Prize Draw”).
  3. Each Entrant is deemed to have accepted, and agreed to be bound by, these Competition Terms and Conditions upon Entry (as defined below) into the Competition and Prize Draw.
  4. If an Entrant is below eighteen years of age at the time of the Competition, the Entrant’s parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees that they have read, acknowledged, and understood these Competition Terms and Conditions and hereby gives their consent for the Entrant to be bound by these Competition Terms and Conditions.
  5. The decision of the ECB regarding any aspect of the Competition and Prize Draw is final and binding (including as to the award of the prizes) and no correspondence will be entered into by the ECB in relation to the Competition and Prize Draw.

Entry Process

  1. The Competition and Prize Draw will be open for entry on the day of the relevant match at such times as notified to the spectators by the ECB.
  2. Entries received outside of this period and/or other than in accordance with the entry requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions, will not be valid and will not be included in the Competition and consequently the Prize Draw.
  3. To enter the Competition, Entrants must click a Competition hyperlink, notified to them by or on behalf of the ECB, and fill out the form contained in such hyperlink with the required data fields (the “Entry”). Entries will not be accepted by any other means.
  4. The ECB accepts no responsibility for Competition entries that are not successfully completed, regardless of cause, including (without limitation) due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure, of any kind.

Prizes

  1. Winning Entrants will be drawn at random from all valid entries of the Prize Draw. The winning Entrants, together with the Prize they win, will be drawn shortly after the end of the Competition and will be made by a computerised random number generator.
  2. Each winning Entrant will receive either signed cricket merchandise or a post-match presentation opportunity (further details of which shall be provided to such winning Entrant upon notification of the Prize), to be determined by the ECB in its sole discretion.
  3. Each single Prize may only be won by a single winning Entrant.
  4. There will be at least one winning Entrant per match.
  5. Each winning Entrant will be contacted on the day of the relevant match using the details provided at paragraph 7 above.
  6. Each winning Entrant must confirm that they are able to accept the Prize as soon as they are notified. In the event that any winning Entrant fails to confirm their acceptance of the Prize by this time or is unable to accept the Prize that they have won for any reason, or the ECB determines that the relevant winner has breached these Competition Terms and Conditions, the ECB reserves the right to offer the Prize to another Entrant of the Prize Draw selected at random.
  7. Depending on the Prize that is won by a winning Entrant, each winning Entrant may be required to confirm a postal address for delivery of the Prize. The ECB accepts no responsibility for Prizes that are sent by post and that are not successfully received, regardless of the cause, including (without limitation) due to a failure by postal services.
  8. The Prize for each winning Entrant is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  9. The ECB reserves the right to substitute each/any winning Entrant’s Prize(s) for any alternative prize(s) if necessary (in the ECB’s sole discretion).

Limitation of Liability

  1. Neither the ECB, nor any of its partners, affiliates, agents, employees, officers, directors or representatives will be liable (to the fullest extent permitted by law) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of the organising or holding of the Competition or as a result of any Entrant’s participation in the Competition/ Prize Draw or as a result of winning, collecting, use or enjoyment of any Prize or if any part of any Prize is unable to be delivered for any reason. Entrants’ statutory rights are not affected.
  2. The ECB reserves the right, at any time and for any reason (including but not limited to not being capable of running the Competition or completing it as planned due to a computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorised intervention, technical fault or any other cause), to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition and Prize Draw without liability.
  3. The ECB does not accept any responsibility under any circumstances for failure by any winning Entrant(s) to claim their Prize.

Entrants Personal Data

  1. Each Entrant acknowledges that their registration details, device information and game play will be used by the ECB for the purposes of operating the Competition and Prize Draw and administrating Prizes. Personal data supplied by Entrants about themselves (including any direct marketing preferences and consents) during the course of this Competition will be used in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, these Competition Terms and Conditions and the ECB’s privacy policy available at https://www.ecb.co.uk/privacy.
  2. The ECB must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the ECB will send the name of the Winning Entrants to anyone who emails info@ecb.co.uk or sends a letter addressed to “ECB BOUNDARY BASH PRIZE DRAW 2025” to the ECB using the address given above, (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month following the end of the relevant match. The ECB accepts no responsibility for letters that are sent by post and that are not successfully received, regardless of the cause, including (without limitation) due to a failure by postal services.
  3. All Entrants agree that if they are a winning Entrant they will take part in any promotional activity reasonably requested by the ECB in relation to the Competition and Prize Draw, and the ECB reserves the right to use the name and image of each winning Entrant in any media for such promotional purposes. If an Entrant is below eighteen years of age at the time of the Competition, such promotional activity will only be undertaken by the ECB with the consent of such Entrant’s parent or legal guardian. If an Entrant objects to any or all of their details being published or made available, please contact the ECB using the email address referred to in Clause 21. In such circumstances, the ECB must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

General

  1. The ECB reserves the right to refuse Entry to the Competition and Prize Draw, to disqualify from the Competition and Prize Draw or to refuse to award the prize(s) to anyone who it reasonably considers has breached these Competition Terms and Conditions or to anyone who, in the ECB’s sole opinion, has otherwise acted improperly or dishonestly.
  2. If any provision of these Competition Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of that provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Competition Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
  3. These Competition Terms and Conditions (and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them) will be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and all Entrants submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to any disputes relating to the Competition and Prize Draw.
